buying a Recurve Bow for my boyfriend?
okay so my boyfriend was hinting a while that he wanted a bow for christmas, so i bought a 200 dollar crossbow. then he showed me a picture of a RECURVE long bow his friend had that he LOVED. realize they were two totally different things, i think the crossbow looks much cooler so im gonna get him that anyway, but i know NOTHING about any of these things. i needed a cheap one, and i found a Greatree Firefox TD Recurve Bow 54″ 24#, and wanted to make sure that it isn’t a youth bow or anything? and that he’d be able to use it. he’s prbably like 5″9. is this bow okay?

The Firefox is a good starter bow, I have quite a few people at the range who shoots them. By good, I mean they don’t break. Unless that is the bow is too short for the draw. Being 5’9″ his draw is most likely in the 28-29″ range. Get him the longest Firefox, I know the Firefox doesn’t go up to 68″. His ideal bow length should be 68″ assuming a draw length of 28″.
I know the crossbow looks cool and such, but he’ll have a hard time finding a range that allows it.
